weekday wardrobe: black and slate blue (with a side of crazy)

Yes, I live in Texas. Yes, we experience summers with record-breaking, triple-digit heat. And yes, I wore a faux leather peplum top in the middle of August, despite the aforementioned heat. (I told you this outfit came with a side of crazy.) But surprisingly, it wasn't bad. Maybe because it's sleeveless. Bottom line is, I saw, I bought, I wore. I had been eyeing this for a bit and finally bought during a 25% off sale (and the final cost could still be considered a "splurge" for me). I love it and I plan to layer it and wear it during the cooler months. Oh, who am I kidding? The only cold month we have is January--but trust me, this will definitely get worn. A lot.

    1. I forgot to ask you...when you wear a long skirt do women need slips or is that out of style?

  5. @kt: I have a black slip, but I only wear it with one thing in my closet, which is a yellow dress that is somewhat sheer in bright lighting. Other than that, I don't really wear them.

  7. Ok, first of all, I am OBSESSED with leather! And I actually added a leather peplum top to my must haves for fall the other day. Unfortunately the one I saw was way too expensive. Tinley is more in my price range. Thanks for the link!
