feeling wu-zy
Due to the excessive amount of pollen floating around the air, I’ve been in a Benadryl-induced haze for most of this week. Being outside for even the shortest amount of time results in itchy eyes, out of control sneezing, and a scratchy throat, so posts this week have been…nonexistent. But armed with Benadryl and TheraFlu, I braved the Big Bad Pollen this morning and headed to Neiman Marcus to meet Jason Wu and view his latest collection. Yes, the Jason Wu. Jason Wu whose pieces are worn by Michelle Obama (and you know I love me some Michelle Obama). Jason Wu who won the Fashion Group International’s Rising Star Award in 2006. Jason Wu who creates some of the most gorgeous pieces I’ve ever seen. I managed to ask Jason about the inspiration for his latest collection (his answer? Paris.), his recently launched line of accessories (which he said was a natural extension of his clothing line), and about the challenges of being a young designer (which he said included having to wear many hats and understanding the business aspect of fashion design, among other things). The collection consisted of lace and leopard and cobalt blue (currently my favorite color) and black and white prints, and this was one of those times I desperately wished for an unlimited clothing budget so I could buy one of everything and haul it home in an 18-wheeler…
