daily duds: feeling beret-ed (and bespectacled)

Normally when I get dressed, I accessorize based on my outfit. Today, I based my outfit on one accessory--a red beret. Truth is, I'm having a bad hair day so my mentality was hat first, outfit later.

Today I paired a pleated brown skirt (it's my first time wearing it) with a blue and cream striped top and red ruffle shoes.

In addition to the red beret, I accessorized with cream earrings and a cream necklace, a brown belt, a chunky ring, and a vintage handbag. I also wore my glasses; they're prescribed, so no faux specs for me.

Sometimes I think the pictures have turned out well, but when I save them on my computer and upload them, I feel like I've committed a major fashion faux pas and belong in the Hot Mess Hall of Fame. Today's post is one of those times. Sigh.

Anyway, here's the supporting cast.

[SKIRT: Thrifted (purchased at Goodwill last fall...or maybe the fall before); TOP: Forever 21; BELT: Forever 21; SHOES: Urban Original; HANDBAG: Vintage; BERET: Forever 21; EARRINGS and NECKLACE: Sam Moon (circa 2004); RING: Forever 21: SPECS: Prescribed]
