words of advice: fall beach wedding

Last week a reader e-mailed me requesting help with finding something to wear to a casual wedding she will be attending in early October. The wedding will be at a beach house on the bay near Corpus Christi and guests were encouraged to dress comfortably. The reader knew how to dress for fall and how to dress for the beach, but was unsure about how to dress for a fall beach wedding.

I was too busy blushing at the fact that a reader was asking me for style advice (so awesome!) that I didn't think to find out what her style or price range was, so I included different styles at different prices (although many of the dresses were flowy and romantic, which is what I think of when I think of the beach). I've never been to a beach wedding, but after taking all of the above details into consideration, I e-mailed the reader the following options from ModCloth, Forever 21 and Lulu's:

ModCloth

Licorice Dish Dress ($65.00)--This is my favorite of the three ModCloth options. It's flowy and the colors are season-appropriate.

Grecian Green Dress ($90.00)--This dress is crazy expensive for my budget, but I think it's gorgeous and I love the bright emerald green. Unfortunately, it recently sold out and is no longer available.

Bright Young Things Dress in Sunshine ($63.00)--The colors of this dress are a bit bright and it's sort of 'formal' but it's a fun option.

Forever 21

Fossil Printed Dress ($28.00)--This dress is casual and I like the "beachy" colors.

Scribbled Flowers Dress ($23.00)--The colors on this dress are "fall-themed" and could possibly be worn with a long-sleeved top underneath when the weather cools.

Empire Waist Dress ($32.00)--I wasn't sure about including this one because it looks so short, but I think it's a fun option and the colors are really pretty.

Lulu's

Northanger Abbey Blue Dress ($38.00)--This blue dress is really cute and simple.

Windswept Beauty Blue Dress ($47.00)--I really like this dress because of the back, but I'm not sure if it would be appropriate. But the color is stunning!

Lost in Your Eyes Accordion Pleat Dress ($38.00)--This is my favorite of the three. I love everything about it--the colors, the pleats, the ruffles. Everything!

I told the reader that even if she didn't pick any of the dresses, she could use them as inspiration, and she promised to let me know what she chooses...
