daily duds: hoodwinked

It rained all day today, but I managed to snap today's pictures during the two minutes it stopped raining and the sun made a very brief appearance. Shortly after, there was torrential downpour and several tornado warnings (which meant numerous 'breaking news' interruptions). Unfortunately, I don't own a raincoat. Or rain boots (although I really like the Christian Siriano for Payless rain boots). I do own an umbrella, but this morning, I had to walk down a flight of stairs carrying my 5-year-old*, his backpack, his lunch box, and my handbag. So when it's wet out, I almost always resort to wearing this hooded jacket:

I absolutely love this jacket (so much so that I bought it in black too). It was also a bit cooler today--and windy as heck--so it was temperature-appropriate.

I've been wanting a pair of straight-leg jeans--my wardrobe overfloweth with skinnies--and finally bought a pair. I saw them on the rack, said to myself These look like they would fit me and tossed them in my basket.

I really like this top (also seen here and here) because it's really versatile. Plus, I like how bright it is.

Here's the supporting cast:

[JEANS: Express Bleus (purchased at Goodwill); TOP: Casa View Thrift; JACKET: Walmart; SHOES: Urban Original; HANDBAG: Vintage; EARRINGS: Body Central; RING: Borrowed]

*NOTE: My son is half my height and his legs are in perfect working order, so I hardly ever carry him (or his lunch box. Or his backpack.), but it was POURING (and he left his rain coat at school yesterday), so I was trying to get us both to car with mininal soakage.

  2. Great look... loving the color palette! Gosh it rained ALL day. Did your parts get any of the tornado action? Luckily it missed my apartment and job! Stay dry. :)
